Gabe Romero currently serves as the Director of Flight Operations at Insight M, overseeing the strategic execution of the company’s aerial methane leak detection program across both U.S. and global markets. Gabe is responsible for end-to-end program leadership ensuring the safe, timely, and high-quality execution of aerial surveys.

Before transitioning to the private sector, Gabe served for over a decade in the U.S. Army as an Aeromedical Evacuation Officer flying the HH-60 Blackhawk. His career spanned three continents with operational leadership roles in Korea, Alaska, and Afghanistan. While stationed in Korea, he led daily flight operations for a Blackhawk MEDEVAC company and coordinated critical medical planning in support of real-world missions along the Demilitarized Zone. During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, he managed an emergency operations center responsible for DOD medical transport and logistics across the Korean Peninsula. In Alaska, he led on-call aeromedical response missions in some of the most remote and demanding environments in North America. He later deployed to Afghanistan, where he led MEDEVAC operations supporting NATO Special Operations forces. 

Following his aviation career, Gabe transitioned to large-scale medical emergency management, overseeing the Puget Sound region’s disaster response operations as part of the National Disaster Medical System.

Gabe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Pomona College and an MBA from the Drucker School at Claremont Graduate University. He currently resides in Toronto, Canada with his wife and daughter. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf, spending time on the beach, and exploring new places with his family.
